Jesus Still Heals Today
A few weeks ago, whilst visiting hospital, I was talking to one of the nurses who told me that she feared for her eyesight as her Type 1 Diabetes had caused damage to her eyes.
I told her not to worry about that and offered to pray for her eyes to be healed.
Commanding Healing
Without hesitating, I asked Lucy to hold out her hands and taking them in mine, I commanded "eyes, be healed in the name of Jesus!"
We were in the middle of the corridor and there were a few people walking about.
One of the other nurses asked what we were doing but just walked off when I explained that I was praying for Lucy's eyes to be healed.
That was it. I didn't get a chance to ask Lucy if she had noticed any immediate improvement in her eyes before she left to continue her work.
Two Weeks Later
Two weeks later, I was back at the hospital and Lucy came in to speak to me later that morning.
She said that she had been for her regular Diabetic eye test and that the tests had shown no damage to her eyes!
In fact, the improvement was such that they compared her current retinal scans with pictures from her previous scans to show that her eyesight had indeed dramatically improved!
Yay. Praise God!
Seeking Explanation
I asked Lucy what she thought the explanation was for the improvement but she didn't really know what to say.
I told her what the Bible says about believers laying hands on the sick and them recovering (see Mark 16:17-18) and that this was just normal Christianity because Jesus still heals today and that many such examples could be found on YouTube.
Jesus Does Not Change
Jesus does not change! He is the same yesterday, today and forever (see Hebrews 13:8).
He healed people in the Bible and He still heals people today.
Jesus Is Our Role Model
Jesus said that anyone who believes in Him will do the same works that He did and even greater works (see John 14:12).
Jesus is the perfect role model for all Christians to follow and we have both His authority and the power of the Holy Spirit to do what He did.
Be A Doer Of The Word
Dare to be a doer of the Word and not just a hearer only! (see James 1:22)
